Polis is the Greek word for city or body of citizens. Our counseling project is a culturally contextualized way to join God in the ministry of reconciliation for the recovery of His polis. Polis Recovery Project is a community-based Christian recovery organization devoted to the research, development and implementation of quality counseling practices. Our project specializes in recovery-oriented systems of care from a distinctively Christian worldview. Polis approaches counseling ministry as theological fieldwork, and seeks to engage and equip the church to provide communal, embodied soul care through faithful presence.
